LARGE SCALE TOPOGRAPHICAL WOODEN MAPS AT LOS ANGELES OFFICE

GOAL: Design and fabricate refined geographical art in an elevated office space in collaboration with the building architect

FEATURES: Panelized, removable, and invisible mounting system. Materials and language in harmony with whole building design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead Design Engineering team of 3 in Rhino and Grasshopper design and modeling of (7) unique maps, with thousands of unique wood tiles

  • Collaborate with in-house designers and building architect to develop look and feel

  • Prototype and develop new construction methods with fabricators and CNC department

  • Manage schedule of multiple maps through Design Engineering, CNC Department, Floor Fabrication, and Finishing Departments
