Intel's 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Interactive Demonstration

GOAL: Build an interactive experience that highlights Intel and Mobileye technology for autonomous driving. Embed and light up this cutting edge technology within a life-size transparent car.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Computer model (Rhino) a life-size car made of slices of clear acrylic, including hardware and structure. Collaborate with fellow designer working in 3ds Max.

  • Develop the construction method and timeline with fab team, electrical engineer, designers, and project manager.

  • Prep CAD car “slices” for lasercutting. Precision place hundreds of individual screw holes so design physically holds together and still looks stylish.

  • Research and prototype construction methods and lighting techniques

  • Work with electrical engineers and shop specialists to ensure efficient and aesthetic construction and design.

  • Illustrator and Photoshop visualization for clients

  • Assist in fabrication

  • Weight and Size Limit - the car must be shipped across states and internationally

  • Transparency - as the audience can see through the car, even internal structure and electronics must be considered and aesthetically designed
